According to the Christian bible, the Devil tempts Eve by offering her a fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. She takes it, eats it, and then is ashamed of her actions. The Devil then gets her to eat from a second tree, which has a fruit that causes death. He provides her with a new body and a new name, and tempts her again with the fruit of that second tree.

Then he gives her a third body, with a different name and a different appearance, and tempts her again. Finally, he gives her another body and another name, and tempts her one last time. In all three cases, she rebukes him at every point, but he never gives up on his plan to destroy the world.
